In the motor-driven power steering device, a power supply device 13 includes a battery 21; a voltage boosting circuit 23 connected to the battery 21 via a relay 22; a control circuit 24 for controlling the operation of the voltage boosting circuit 23; a power supply line 28 for supplying power to a control power source 27 provided with a DC-DC converter, via an opening/closing switch 25 and a diode 26 arranged in a forward direction from the battery 21 to the control circuit 24 sequentially from the battery 21 toward the control circuit 24; and a backup line 30 for supplying output power of the voltage boosting circuit 23 to the control power supply 27, via a diode 29 arranged in a forward direction from an output terminal of the boosting circuit 23 to an input terminal of the control power supply 27.
