Abstract:

The monomode fibre optic cable operates between wavelengths of 1300 to 1700 nm. For wavelengths of 1550 nm the chromatic dispersion is between 3 and 14 ps/(nm.km) and the peak chromatic dispersion is below 0.014 ps/(square nm.km). The figures are obtained by employing a trapezoidal index profile.
