Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an organic EL lighting device which exhibits special stage effects of illumination.SOLUTION: The organic EL lighting device comprises: a drive circuit which generates a direct-current or pulse-shaped drive waveform and outputs a drive voltage according to the generated waveform; and an organic EL panel which includes a luminescent face and a plurality of power feeding sections installed on the peripheral side thereof, to which the drive voltage output by the drive circuit is supplied from the plurality of power feeding sections. When lighting the organic EL panel, the drive circuit supplies a drive voltage having a first frequency F1 to the organic EL panel for a prescribed duration of time from a point of time (T1) at which a directive signal to light the organic EL panel is received, whereby the organic EL panel is lighted so that the peripheral part in-plane of the luminescent face will become bright earlier than the center part in-plane of the luminescent face. After that, the drive circuit supplies a drive voltage having a second frequency F2 lower than the first frequency F1 to the organic EL panel to have it lighted steadily.
