Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a catalyst not only as an exhaust gas purifying catalyst controlling CO, HC, and NOx that are exhaust gas components of an automobile at 200°C or above, but also as a catalyst oxidizing or reducing a bad-smelling toxic substance such as ammonia or HS, a VOC and an environmental load substance such as benzene, toluene, or xylene, and a chemical such as acid or alcohol.SOLUTION: In this method for producing the catalyst, a layer containing an iron compound and a cerium compound is formed on a heat-resistant catalyst carrier capable of being performed with current carrying heating, thereafter is heated under an oxidizing atmosphere to be formed as an oxide, and subsequently, is heated under a carbon monoxide atmosphere.
