Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing easily and efficiently sparsely-shaped gas phase method fine carbon fibers each having a thin outer diameter and having excellent dispersibility, by solving problems in a conventional production method of the gas phase method fine carbon fibers.SOLUTION: A carrier precursor and a catalyst precursor are used, and they are introduced from the upper side of a reactor together with a carbon source raw material and decomposed by heating. Hereby, supported catalyst particles formed by supporting a catalyst metal on a carrier are synthesized in the reactor, floated in the reactor as they are, and simultaneously reacted with the carbon source raw material, to thereby grow fine carbon fibers.
