Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To take into account the expansion and contraction of an active material due to an increase/decrease in a charge rate of the active material in a secondary battery charge rate estimation device.SOLUTION: A secondary battery charge rate estimation device 10 estimates a charge rate of a secondary battery 8 on the basis of concentration distribution of lithium that is a reaction substance. The charge rate estimation device 10 includes a storage unit 14 for storing the dependency, on active material expansion/contraction, of an electrode parameter relating to an anode and a cathode having an active material that expands and contracts due to the magnitude of concentration distribution of the reactant of the active material. Using the electrode parameter read out from the storage unit 14, the lithium concentration distribution in the inside of the active material is estimated using a lithium diffusion equation and boundary condition in the inside of the active material. Furthermore, a battery current of the secondary battery 8 is estimated, a reaction current density for lithium generation is calculated and lithium concentration distribution in the inside of the active material is calculated to estimate an average lithium concentration, whereby the charge rate of the whole of the secondary battery 8 is estimated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
