Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for initially charging a lithium secondary battery, which enables the adequate permeation of an electrolyte into an electrode group while suppressing copper dissolution from a negative electrode current collector.SOLUTION: A method for initially charging a lithium secondary battery, of which the design capacity is 5 Ah or higher, comprises the steps of: charging the lithium secondary battery to 0.5% or more of the design capacity within 10 hours after injecting an electrolyte; and leaving the lithium secondary battery as it is for 0.5X hour or longer time after injecting the electrolyte, provided that the design capacity of the lithium secondary battery is represented by X Ah.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
