PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a foam that makes it possible to increase the size of a foam and make a precursor foam at various places.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a method in which a precursor 12 containing a foaming agent inside a base material is brought into contact with a metal plate 11, heat is generated by friction using a frictional agitation tool 13 with respect to the metal plate 11, the generated heat is conducted by the metal plate 11, and the precursor 12 is made to foam, so that a foam 14 having pores inside the base material is produced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
