Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device capable of measuring the group delay time difference at a high time resolution without using a reference optical fiber.SOLUTION: In the measuring method, an interference signal between an optical pulse and probe light whose frequency is linearly modulated and a part comes into a multimode fiber and passes through the multimode fiber is measured, an interference signal between the optical pulse and another part of the probe light that does not come into the multimode fiber is measured, and a group delay time in a propagation mode of the multimode fiber is analyzed by determining the spectrum of the product of these interference signals.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
