Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a fluorinated elastomer-coated insulated wire having heat resistance and capable of impregnating a pellet with a crosslinking agent is provided. A method for manufacturing an insulated wire having a conductor and extruding the coated fluorinated elastomer composition to the outer periphery of the conductor as an insulating layer, the fluorinated elastomer composition comprising a base polymer containing a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and an alpha-olefin having 2 to 3 carbon atoms and a polyolefin copolymer and a crosslinking agent, the method comprising the stepof polymerizing a resin composition, the resin composition comprising a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and an alpha-olefin having 2 to 3 carbon atoms in an amount of 70% by mass or more and 95% by mass or less and a polyolefin copolymer in an amount of 5% by mass or more and 30% by mass or less, to prepare a pellet not containing the crosslinking agent; a step of impregnating the pellet not containing the crosslinking agent with a liquid crosslinking agent; and a step of coating the pellet impregnated with the crosslinking agent as the insulating layer to the outer periphery of the conductorby extrusion.
