Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor element which offers compactness and reduced variation in oxygen concentration gradient inside the gas sensor element and is capable of accurately detecting concentration of a specific gas.SOLUTION: A gas sensor element comprises a first space 150 into which gas under measurement is introduced, an introduction passage 125 for introducing the gas under measurement into a second space, a first pump cell, an oxygen concentration detection cell having a detection electrode, and a second pump cell. On an upstream side of the introduction passage in an introduction direction F of the gas under measurement, the detection electrode extends continuously from a first virtual line C1, which is parallel to a side wall 140s1 extending in a direction of an axis AX to form the first space and passes through an edge of the introduction passage on the sidewall side, through a section between the other sidewall 140s2 and the introduction passage to a second virtual line C2 that is perpendicular to the sidewalls and passes through an edge of the introduction passage on a downstream side in the introduction direction of the gas under measurement. The introduction passage and a second inner electrode at least partially overlap with each other in a lamination direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
