Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a display panel that is easily processed and excellent in production efficiency.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a display panel includes: a contour changing step of changing the shape of the contour of an optical display component in which the shape of the contour of a display area is a shape other than a rectangle and that is a rectangle in plan view, a first lamination step of laminating an optical member on a surface of the optical display component in which the shape of the contour is changed, and a cutting step of cutting the optical member into an irregular shape to form an optical film. The optical display component has a first optical axis set in one direction and is provided with a first mark indicating the direction of the first optical axis in an area other than the display area; the optical member has a second optical axis set in one direction; in the contour changing step, the optical display component is processed such that the first mark remains thereon while referring to the first mark; in the first lamination step, the optical member is laminated, on the basis of the first mark, on the surface of the optical display component in which the shape of the contour is changed so that the first optical axis and second optical axis satisfy a predetermined relationship.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
