Abstract:
To provide a blood analyzer and a blood analysis method that determine the presence/absence of erythrocytes and extracellular vesicles containing inclusion bodies of nucleic acids causing false positive, and that can determine the presence/absence of infection with Plasmodium more accurately.SOLUTION: A blood analyzer 10 includes: a sample preparation unit 30 for preparing a measurement sample by mixing a blood specimen with a fluorochrome for coloring nucleic acids; a light-receiving unit 105 for receiving fluorescent light generated when irradiating a measurement sample prepared by the sample preparation unit 30 with light; and a control unit 51 for determining the presence/absence of at least either erythrocytes containing inclusion bodies of nucleic acids, or extracellular vesicles, on the basis of fluorescence intensity obtained by processing signals from the light-receiving unit 105.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
