Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve excellent motion picture imaging characteristics and excellent resolution characteristics in a case where ultra-multi-pixels are read out at a high frame frequency, to enable linear, high-S/N signal acquisition at a low illuminance without reducing a saturation level, to enable signal acquisition with a good S/N in a linear region at a high illuminance, and to widen a dynamic range.SOLUTION: A reading control circuit comprises: a floating diffusion capacitance (FD1) 113 that receives a signal from a photodiode (PD) 111 via a transfer gate (TX) 112, and that has a small capacity and a large conversion gain; and a floating diffusion capacitance (FD2) 123 that receives a signal from the (FD1) 113 via an overflow gate (OFG)122, and that has a large capacity and a small conversion gain. Both the (FD1) 113 and the (FD2) 123 have unique pixel output circuits (OUT1, 2) 117 and 127. Signals corresponding to unique signal output lines (204A, B) are outputted from respective output parts.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
