Abstract:
A retaining member (13) of an armature member assembly (10) is fixed to a shaft (16) of a clutch-brake unit (17). The assembly (10) is equipped with two armature plates (11 and 12). These can be moved relative to the retaining member (13), in the direction away from the member (13) by virtue of leaf springs (14 and 15) of annular or polygonal shape. The minimum distance between the armature plates (11 and 12) is established by spacers (20). Since both armature plates (11 and 12) can be moved away from the retaining member (13) independently of one another, it is possible e.g. for the armature plate (11) to be attracted to the clutch (22) before the armature plate (12) is released from the brake (24). The result is not only that switching is very rapid but also that there is less switching noise because the weights moved in the switching process are reduced.
