Abstract:
Disclosed is an auto-tensioner that is equipped with a base; a turning member that is rotatably supported on the base and to which a pulley, on which a belt is wound, can be attached; a coil spring that is provided with one end latched to the base, the other end latched to the turning member, and that impels the turning member in one direction with respect to the base; an elastic body that is provided with one end latched to either the turning member or the base and the other end of which is a free end, and that extends along the inner circumferential face of the other of the turning member and the base; and a friction member that is joined so as to contact the other inner circumferential face of the turning member and the base and so as to be incapable of relative movement in the circumferential direction with respect to the elastic body. In addition, the coil spring is disposed compressed in the axial direction, and the friction member is pressed with respect to either the turning member or the base by means of the repulsive force with which said spring attempts to extend in the axial direction.
