This 1-methylcarbapenem compound is represented by the general formula (I) [wherein, R1 denotes a group represented by the formula: COOR3 (R3 denotes hydrogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl group or the like); a group represented by the formula: CONR4R5 (R4 and R5 denote each hydrogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl group which may be substituted or the like), cyano group, a group represented by the formula CH2OR6 (R6 denotes hydrogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl group or the like) or a group represented by the formula CH2NR7R8 (R7 denotes hydrogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl group or the like; and R8 denotes hydrogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl group, a 1-6C alkanoyl group, a 1-6C alkoxycarbonyl group or the like); R2 denotes hydrogen atom or a 1-6C alkyl group; n denotes 1, 2 or 3; and X denotes sulfur atom or oxygen atom] or its pharmacologically acceptable salt or pharmacologically acceptable ester derivative.
