Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a carbapenem antimicrobial agent having a 1-alkylpyrrolidine structure, to obtain a 5-alkyl-2-thia-5- azabicyclo[2.2.1]heptan-3-one which is a useful synthetic intermediate therefor and its salt and to provide a method for producing the same.
This method for producing a carbapenem antimicrobial agent (4) represented by the formula [wherein, R1 denotes a 1-3C alkyl group; and R2 and R3 denote each independently hydrogen atom or the like] or its salt comprises using a compound (1) represented by the formula or its salt as one of starting materials.
