Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL: A 1,2-dihalogeno-azolylethane derivative of formula I (A and B are each the same or different halogen, nitro, phenoxy or amino, or phenyl, biphenyl, naphthyl or heteroaryl optionally substd. by mono-tri C1-4 alkyl, alkoxy or halogenated alkyl; Z is Cl or Br; X is CH or N), its acid addition salt and its metal complex.
EXAMPLE: 1,2-dichloro-1-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-2-(2-fluorophenyl)-2-(4-fluorophenyl)- ethane.
USE: Crop protective fungicides, effective against pathogenic microorganisms in a wide variety of plants, seeds, etc.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II is reacted with Cl or Br in the presence of a Lewis acid to give the compound of formula I.
