Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL:An N-substituted-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1,5-benzothiazepin derivative of formula I (R<1> is hydroxyl, lower alkyl, phenyl; R<2>, R<3> are identical or different lower alkyl) and its acid adduct. EXAMPLE:5-{3-[2-(3-Diethylaminophenoxy)ethylamino]propionyl}-2,3,4,5-t etra- hydro-1,5-benzothiazepin. USE:It is used as a remedy for dysuria. It has both calcium-antagonistic and alpha-blocking actions, and shows the selectivity to urethral smooth muscles without side-effect on hypotension. PREPARATION:The reaction of a compound of formula II (A is amino group, halogen) with a compound of formula III (B is halogen or p-toluenesulfonyl, when A is amino group; or amino group, when A is halogen) gives the compound of formula I.
