Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL: 2-halocyclopropylethane derivatives represented by formula I [R1 is H or Cl; R2 is H, an aryl or an arylalkyl; A is groups represented by formulae II, III (B-C and E are bonded to R3 and B and D are O or S and E is O, S or NR4) and R3 and R4 are H, an alkali metal, an alkyl, an alkenyl, a haloalkyl, a cycloalkyl, a bicycloalkyl, an arylalkyl or a naphthylalkyl].
EXAMPLE: 4-(2-propyloxy)-benzoic acid-[2-(2-chloro-2-fluorocyclopropyl]-ethyl]- ester.
USE: An insecticide for insects and mites.
PROCESS: Novel acid halogenide represented by formula IV (X is Cl or Br) is reacted with alcohol represented by formula V or amine in a solvent in the presence of an acid receptor to obtain the compd. represented by the formula I.
