PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new compound useful as an anti-cancer medicine.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of the formula, which is obtained by extracting dried bark of Tabebuia avellandae Lorentz, ex Griseb. with warm methanol, distilling away methanol to give the residue, immersing the residue in cold chloroform and separating a chloroform-soluble component by a preparative thin layer chromatography using toluene/ethyl acetate (4:1) as a developing solvent.
