To obtain the subject compound as an active ingredient of agrochemicals having excellent effect for controlling various plant diseases caused by plant pathogenic virus, bacteria and filamentous fungi, esp. rice blight as the main disease of rice.
This compound is a 2,6-dichloroisonicotinic acid phenoxyalkylamide derivative of formula I ((n) is 0-4; R1 to R3 are each H or a lower alkyl; R4 and R5 are each H, a lower alkyl, amino, nitro, cyano, etc.), e.g. N-(2'-phenoxyethyl)-2,6-dichloroisonicotinic acid amide. The compound of formula I is obtained, for example, by reaction of 2,6-dichloroisonicotinic acid chloride of formula II in an appropriate solvent in the presence, if needed, of a base with a phenoxyalkylamine derivative of formula III. The other objective agrochemical contains this compound as active ingredient normally at a concentration of 0.5-95wt.% (pref. 2-70wt.%).
