To produce 7-acyl-3-substituted carbamoyloxycephem compound com prising a specific 7-acyl-3-substituted carbamoyloxycephem, having excellent effects as a medicine and useful as an antimicrobial agent such as antifungal agent capable of being orally administered and an intermediate for an antimicrobial agent.
This 7-acyl-3-substituted carbamoyloxycephem compound is the new one of formula I [A is CH or N; R1 is a (protected) hydroxyl or a (substituted) lower alkoxyl; R2 and R3 are each a (substituted) lower alkyl; R2 is H and R3 is a lower alkoxy, a (substituted) lower alkyl, etc.; R4 is a (protected) carboxyl group; the case that A is CH, R1 is OH, methoxy or acetoxy, R2 and R3 are each methyl and R4 is carboxyl, etc., is excluded{9147/28} and is useful as an antimicrobial agent such as antifungal agent, an intermediate, etc. the compound is obtained by reacting 7-aminocephem compound of formula II with a heterocyclic carboxylic acid compound containing nitrogen of formula III [R6 is a (protected) amino group].
