Title:
ABNORMALITY DETECTOR FOR BATTERY PACK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2010011722
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To solve the problem that it is impossible to distinguish disconnection of detection lines L2 to L8 connecting electrodes of cells C1 to C8 constituting a battery pack Ba to an abnormality detector, from overcharge or over-discharge of the cells C1 to C8.

Between the detection lines Ln and L(n+1) connected to both ends of the cells Cn(n =1 to 8), an overcharge detecting circuit 10 to determine whether the voltages are higher than an overcharge threshold value or not, an over-discharge detecting circuit 20 to determine whether the voltages are lower than an over-discharge threshold value, and a series composed of resistors Rn and switching elements SWn are connected. If an abnormality is detected in both of the overcharge detecting circuit 10 and the over-discharge detecting circuit 20 when either one of the switching elements SWn is turned on, disconnection of the detection lines Ln is determined.
