To provide an abrasive which brings about no streak-like fine ruggedness on a surface to be polished caused by the repeated periodicity of ruggedness formed on the surface of the abrasive.
A net-like uneven part 2 in one surface of a body 1 comprises a projected streak part 3 and a concave recessed part 4 surrounded with the projected streak part. A projected streak pattern 3P being a planar shape of the projected streak part, is formed as a pattern formed from many border line segments L which define many opening regions A corresponding to the concave recessed part and extend between two branch points B to define the opening regions, wherein an average value N of the number of border line segments extending from one branch point is 3.0≤N<4.0, and wherein the projected streak pattern 3P includes a region where there is no direction in which the opening regions are arrayed at a constant repeated period. Preferably, the shapes of the opening regions include two or more types of pentagon, hexagon, and heptagon. The body can be a two-layer configuration where supports are stacked.
