To provide a softer and thinner sanitary napkin which can solve the problem in providing a sanitary napkin with an embossing according to a conventional pattern provided for preventing the sanitary napkin from being deformed or having leakage when being worn.
Of an absorption body 5 supported with a liquid impermeable type backsheet 3, a region other than a medium convex section 15 has on almost entire face thereof a number of perfect circle-shaped embossed concave sections 13 for pressing. The embossed concave section 13 has the bottom face having the maximum width of 4 mm or less. The embossed concave sections 13 are provided so as to be separated from one another with a compression area rate of 3% or more and 30% or less. Thus, a portion of the absorption body 5 in which each of the embossed sections is compressed and which is surrounded by the embossed concave sections 13 becomes thinner upper part by being stretched with the embossed concave sections 13. Thus the entire thickness of the sheet becomes thinner and a non-compressed part maintains an original elastic softness. Thus, the sanitary napkin of this invention can maintain a deformable softness since the stretched direction has no regularity.
