PURPOSE: To facilitate transport, construction and disassembly of the title distillator and to make the same economical by partially evaporating feed water; allowing the resulting steam to be absorbed in a high concn. aq. soln. of lithium bromide; and heat-concentrating the soln. with solar heat to recover pure water.
CONSTITUTION: A heat medium heated with solar heat collector 1 is fed to heat exchange coils 3 with pump 2 to heat a steam generation part, where a low concn. aq. soln. of lithium bromide is heat-concentrated to a high concn. aq. soln. of lithium bromide while flowing down through the space between coils 3. AT the same time, the steam generated falls, is condensed with cooling coils 15, and stores in pure water pool 16. The high concn. aq. soln. of lithium bromide is fed to an absorption part, where it is cooled with heat exchange coils 9 and contacted to steam generated by partial evaporation of feed water, forming a low concn. aq. soln. of lithium bromide. The impurities-contg. feed water is fed from tank 10 to an evaporation part, where part of the water is evaporated to steam. The remainder cooled by being deprived of heat of evaporation is simultaneously fed to coils 9 and coils 15, where it is used for cooling.
