To drive the device with a small voltage of several-volt order, even at a maximum and to enable the device to operate through reciprocal mechanism independent of a driving frequency by forming an electronic system as an electronic channel which is arranged on a piezoelectric substrate in a travel section of a surface acoustic wave and can have its conductivity adjusted by electric field effect.
On a piezoelectric substrate 1, two inter-digital transducers 2 and 3 are provided and serve as input and output inter-digital transducers for, for example, a delay line. A semi-two-dimensional electronic system 4 is provided in the travel section of a surface acoustic wave between both the inter-digital transducers 2 and 3 and equipped with an ohmic contact 5 of this system and a contact 6 of an electric electrode. Then the travel speed and speed of the surface acoustic wave in the travel section between the inter-digital transducers 2 and 3 can be controlled by the electric field effect of a voltage, applied between the contact 6 and an electric field electrode.
