Abstract:
PURPOSE: To correct automatically the deviation in a sound image due to an arrival time difference of a reproduction sound produced asymmetrical speaker arrangement in an automobile or the like.
CONSTITUTION: Speakers 19L, 19R are used to output a sound through channel dividers 14L, 14R, delay devices 15L, 15R, attenuators 16L,16R, D/A converters 17L, 17R and power amplifiers 18L, 18R in the usual sound reproduction and measurement noise generated in a noise generating section 12 is reproduced from one of the speakers 19L, 19R sequentially in the automatic correction and a propagation characteristic of the sound system from the speakers to microphones is measured by an adaptive filter 22 and the propagation time from each speaker to the microphone is obtained by an arithmetic operation section 24 based on the characteristic. A series of operation is controlled by a control system 26 and the delay time of the delay devices 15L, 15R is adjusted so that the propagation time from each speaker is made equal.
