PURPOSE: The titled emulsion excellent in solvent resistance, heat resitance, etc., prepared by emulsion-polymerizing an alkyl (meth)acrylate, a radical-polymerizable unsaturated carboxylic acid and a (meth)acrylate ester in the presence of a specified polymer.
CONSTITUTION: The following monomers (A)W(D) are emulsion-polymerized at 60W100°C in an aqueous medium in the presence of 0.1W20wt%, based on the total monomers, water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer or oligomer which forms a three-dimensional structure by the reaction with oxygen and becomes solvent-insoluble, e.g., polybutadiene: (A) 40W90wt% mixture of 0W90wt% alkyl acrylate and 0W90wt% alkyl methacrylate, (B) 0.1W10wt% radical-polymerizable unsaturated carboxylic acid (e.g., acrylic acid), (C) 0W50wt% different unsaturated monomer (e.g., styrene) and (D) 0.1W50wt% (meth)acrylate ester of an alcohol having fluorinated alkyl groups and/or fluorinated alkylene groups.
