Abstract:

To increase an absorbed amount per unit volume by preventing activated carbon from dropping in spite of an air filter being inexpensively produced by using powdery activated carbon.

An activated carbon-containing paper having 190 g/m2 weight, 0.38 g/cm3 packing density and 0.5 mm paper thickness is manufactured by 50 wt.% of powdery activated carbon having 0.3-1.3 cm3/g pore volume, 1.0 cm3/g average pore volume and 0.1-100 μm particle diameters and 5 μm average particle diameter, 40 wt.% of pulp and 10 wt.% of a polyacrylonitrile fiber as a thermally fusible fiber.
