Abstract:
To provide a method and a device for optimizing a current overshoot and energy loss in a gate drive.SOLUTION: In a method for optimizing a gate driver waveform, there are a first time period T1 having a first duration associated with a first current IG_high, and a second time period T2 having a second duration associated with a second current IG_low, the first current IG_high is greater than the second current IG_low. The method includes determining an optimized first duration by iteratively modifying the first duration until the overshoot in the output waveform generated by switching an electrical switch is below a threshold, determining an optimized second duration on the basis of the optimized first duration, and switching the electrical switch using the optimized first duration and the optimized second duration.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4A
