Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make automatically movable a boot from a walking position to a riding position when the boot is connected to a binding on a snowboard by providing an adjusting mechanism between a boot fitting section and a support section so as to change the front inclination angle of the support section against the boot fitting section.
SOLUTION: When a rider inserts the foot into the binding 16 of a snowboard 12, an active member 40 connected to the binding 16 and a high-back support 42 adjustably connected to the heel portion of a snowboard boot 10 are coupled with each other in an active high back system. A connecting member 48 provided at the free end section of the erect portion 46 of the active member 40 is coupled with the high back support 42 via a snap type connecting member 74. The support 42 is constituted of a U-shaped bracket 50 connected to the neck section 28 of the boot 10, a lever 52 journalled on it and a support member 54 connected to a shank section 28 with a pin 56.
