Title:
ACTIVE MATERIAL FOR BATTERIES, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME, NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE BATTERY, AND BATTERY PACK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2015084321
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active material for batteries which enables the materialization of a nonaqueous electrolyte battery superior in rate characteristic and cycle characteristics.SOLUTION: An active material for batteries according to an embodiment comprises: particles of a niobium titanium complex oxide; and a carbon material-containing phase. The carbon material-containing phase is formed on at least part of the surface of each niobium titanium complex oxide particle. The niobium titanium complex oxide is expressed by: TiM1NbM2O(where 0≤x<1; 0≤y<1; and the elements M1 and M2 may be identical to each other, or not). According to a Raman chart obtained by Raman spectroscopic measurement with a measurement light source of 532 nm, the carbon material exhibits G band observed in a range of 1530-1630 cm, and D band observed in a range of 12801380 cm. With the carbon material, the ratio I/Iof G-band peak intensity Ito D-band peak intensity Iis 0.8 to 1.2.
