Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active material for a lithium ion secondary battery, with which a lithium ion secondary battery having excellent charge/discharge capacity and excellent cycle characteristics can be obtained, and a lithium ion secondary battery including the active material.SOLUTION: An active material for a lithium ion secondary battery includes an active material body and a coat layer formed on the surface of the active material body. The coat layer comprises a resin having a binding function, and has a film thickness of 1 nm or more and 50 nm or less. When the total surface area of the active material body is 100%, the percentage of an area occupied by the coat layer is 70% or more.
