An actuator 11 of this invention comprises: a wire 14 comprising a shape memory alloy; and a body 15 supporting the wire 14. The actuator 11 is driven by utilizing the expansion and contraction of the wire 14 by switching of energizing/non-energizing to the wire 14. The wire 14, in a state where a rigid body 17 having conductivity in one part of it is interposed, is supported by the body 15 while being folded. The rigid body 17 is supported by the body 15 in a manner movable only along a relative movement direction of both end sides of the wire 14. Also, the rigid body 17 is electrically connected in parallel to one part of the wire 14, and has conductivity higher than that of the wire 14 so that electric current hardly flows in one part of the wire 14.
