Abstract:

To provide an adapter which can functionalize various types of optical systems appropriately for a lens interchangeable type camera system.

An adapter comprises: a first mount unit to/from which a camera body is attachable and detachable; a second mount unit which is provided independently of the first mount unit, and to/from which an interchangeable lens is attachable and detachable; a power supply unit which generates supply voltage of a lens system power supply system to feed for the interchangeable lens attached to the second mount unit from a second power supply system, among first and second power supply systems of the camera body attached to the first mount unit, which can supply higher voltage than the first power supply system; a voltage detecting unit to detect either the voltage supplied from the second power supply system or the voltage supplied from the lens system power supply system to the interchangeable lens; and an adapter control unit to supply the detection result of the voltage detecting unit to the camera body.
