Title:
ADAPTIVE DIGITAL QUANTIZATION NOISE CANCELLATION FILTER FOR MASH ADC
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2017118493
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for quantization noise cancellation in a continuous-time multi-stage noise shaping analog-to-digital converter (CT MASH ADC).SOLUTION: Digital quantization noise cancellation filters adaptively track transfer function variations due to integrator gain errors, flash-to-DAC timing errors, as well as the inter-stage gain and timing errors. Tracking transfer functions is performed through the direct cross-correlation between an injected maximum length linear feedback shift register (LFSR) sequence and modulator outputs, and then these non-ideal effects are corrected by accurately modeling the transfer functions with programmable finite impulse response (PFIR) filters.SELECTED DRAWING: None
