Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorbent for metal ions, which has excellent adsorption activity for metal ions including Group 10 metal ions.SOLUTION: Provided is an adsorbent for metal ions, comprising a polymer or a salt thereof containing an unsaturated aromatic compound represented by a specific formula as a structural unit, which has excellent ability to adsorb one or more selected from palladium ions and platinum ions, especially by contact under an acidic condition. The unsaturated aromatic compound is one obtained by reacting: an unsaturated aromatic compound having a polymerizable double bond which bonded to a benzene ring via an alkyldiyl group and an alkyldiyl group having a halogen atom at a terminal; and a methyne compound having a tertiary amino group, an alkyl ester group, and a thiol group, at the thiol group and the halogen atom to form a bond.SELECTED DRAWING: None
