Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving the solubility of a tablet while imparting a sufficient hardness to the tablet when dietary fibers are used for preparing nutritional compositions in a tablet form.SOLUTION: The invention concerns the use of dietary fibers for improving the dissolving time of compressed powders in a tablet form. The powders comprise fat, protein and carbohydrates. The carbohydrates comprise the dietary fibers in the range of 1-15 wt.% of the total composition. The tablet form has a hardness of 15 N to 250 N when tested in a hardness tester with a force applied horizontally to the tablet with a constant test speed of 2 mm/s.SELECTED DRAWING: None
