Abstract:
To provide an adverse environment determination device, and an adverse environment determination method which can identify a site to be adverse environment for a device which recognizes an object by using image data.SOLUTION: An environment determination device 20 determines surrounding environment as adverse environment for a front camera based on a fact that effective recognition distance of a lane compartment line is less than predetermined first distance. Then, a type of the adverse environment is determined on the basis of a recognition state of the lane compartment line and/or a landmark, and environment supplementary information such as air temperature. For example, when the lane compartment line located in predetermined second distance or more and less than the first distance can be recognized, on the other hand, the landmark cannot be recognized, it is determined that the afternoon sun affects. In addition, when both of the lane compartment line located in the second distance or more and less than the first distance and the landmark can be recognized, it is determined that the type of the adverse environment is fog.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
