Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a drug having the activity to lower the cholesterol level in blood or suppressing the increase of the level, by using a monolinolein as an active component.
CONSTITUTION: The objective agent contains α-monolinolein and/or β-monolinolein (especially β-monolinolein has excellent effect) as an active component. The agent is used singly or in combination with other drug to lower the blood cholesterol level of the patient of hypercholesterolemia caused by arteriosclerosis, hyperlipemia, diabetes, etc., and to suppress the continuous increase of blood cholesterol level caused by the intake of diet having high cholesterol content, such as animal fat, butter, etc.
