PURPOSE: To make sure and safe affixing of masking taps possible on wide curing surfaces or in elevated work by using masking tapes having self-adhesive layers in the upper half part of the rear surface and the lower half part of the front surface.

CONSTITUTION: A wall surface 2 is segmented to a painting surface 4 and a curing surface 5 at a boundary 3. With the top edge of a masking tape 1 held in contact with the boundary 3, the tape 1 is affixed to the curing surface 5 side with the self-adhesive layer 1c in the upper half part of a rear surface 1a. Thence, masking sheets 6 such as waste papers or PE sheets are affixed onto the shelf-adhesive layer 1c in the lower half part of the surface 1b of the tape 1, and this completes aging. Since the adhesion areas of the surface 5 of the tape 1 and the sheets 6 are assured sufficiently and independently, the stripping by wind and rain is obviated. This type of the tape wound in roll is convenient for practicable use.
