Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a seal device having a means for keeping the seal device radially relative to a shaft and positioning and keeping the seal device regardless of the bore outer diameter of a housing.
CONSTITUTION: An alignment device 21 having a cylindrical member surrounding a shaft 3 is provided with a carrier or a plurality of sacrificial bearing fitted to the inside diameter of a carrier, namely, the alignment device 21, and these bearings fix the radial position and angular position of the carrier 21 and an element mounted on the carrier. This radial location of the carrier and/or the element mounted on the carrier permits a seal device 20, the carrier and housing parts 1, 2 to be self-aligned in conformation with the bearings, the shaft 3 and the housing part 1. The axial positioning of the carrier and/or the element mounted on the carrier is realized by projections 28, 29 and elastic means mounted between the housing 1 and the alignment device.
