Abstract:
PURPOSE: To quickly swell out an air bag body which is together with a gas generator installed in an accommodating vessel mounted on a seat frame by arranging so that a sewn part of a skin material to serve as an outlet of the swell-out body of the air bag is made weaker than the other sewn parts.
CONSTITUTION: When applied to the seat back of a car seat, an air bag device 11 for side collision is made in a module structure being equipped with accommodating vessel 14 to accommodate a gas generator 15 and the body 16 of air bag, and the vessel 14 is secured to the side of a frame for the seat back using a bolt, etc. The air bag body 16 will swell out ahead upon rupturing the sewn part 9 of a crosswise gusset 7c and main side cloth 7b through a slit 8 formed outward aslant in the side part 5b of a pad material 5 of seat back. The sewn part 9 has an outlet 24 for swell-out air bag body 16 in the sewn part 9a which is weaker than other parts and where only sewing threads Y1 exist.
