Title:
AIR BAG DOOR OF AIR BAG DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3475388
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent dropping from occurring on a design surface at a door terminal, improve rigidity at the terminal, and prevent floating of the door terminal, by providing an opening in an instrument panel and forming the door terminal arranged at the edge of the opening in the hollow shape.
SOLUTION: An opening 3 with a substantially rectangular shape is provided in the upper surface of an instrument panel 2. The edge of this opening 3 is folded downward in the step difference shape to form a flange 3a, and in a region arranged to this flange 3a, a door terminal 20 of an air bag door 10 is formed such that it projects to the back surface side and its thickness is thicker than a general plate thickness of its inside design surface 12. In addition, the door terminal 20 is formed in the hollow shape. In other words, in the door terminal 20 formed such that its thickness is thick, a hollow part 22 extending over its entire periphery is formed. Thus, floating of the door terminal 20 during heat resistance test is avoided and the air bag door 10 can be lightened.
