Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bearing slider for an optical disk drive capable of recording/reproducing information on an optical disk while being floated and traveling above the optical disk freely rotatably provided by a specified height by a dynamic air pressure on an optical disk.
SOLUTION: This air bearing slider includes an objective lens loading hole 61 bored to load an objective lens 50, and a slider main body 60 having an opening 63 bored in one side of the objective lens loading hole 61. When the slider is floated by a dynamic air pressure, air flowing into the lower side of the slider main body 60 is passed through the objective lens loading hole 61, and discharged through the opening 63.
