To defrost an outdoor heat exchanger without substantially deteriorating a heating capacity, in an air conditioner which can perform heating operation.
A defrosting passage mechanism (26) is arranged at the air conditioner (1). The air conditioner (1) performs heating defrosting operation for evaporating a coolant sent to the outdoor heat exchanger (23) from an indoor heat exchanger (41) while defrosting an arbitrary heat exchange path by using the defrosting passage mechanism (26). The heating defrosting operation firstly makes the coolant sent to the outdoor heat exchanger (23) from the indoor heat exchanger (41) pass through the arbitrary heat exchange path toward a liquid-side end from a gas-side end of the arbitrary heat exchange path without making the coolant flow into a coolant flow divider (64) by the defrosting passage mechanism (26). Then, the heating defrosting operation makes the coolant which has passed through the arbitrary heat exchange path pass through the other heat exchange path toward a gas-side end from a liquid-side end of the other heat exchange path other than the arbitrary heat exchange path via the coolant flow divider (64).
