Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the upper part of a resin casing of an air-conditioning unit from pressing and deforming a reinforcing member toward the rear part of a vehicle upon collision of the vehicle.
SOLUTION: The upper part 8 of a resin casing 8a of an air-conditioning unit 7 incorporating an air temperature adjusting heat-exchanger and an air flow controlling door, is located at a position which is off from a reinforcing member 6 in an instrument panel 5 toward the front part of a vehicle. A thin wall part 8d is formed in the upper part Ba of the resin casing 8 so as to form a fragile part, and accordingly upon collision of the vehicle, if the upper part 8a of the resin casing 8 bumps against the reinforcing member 6, the upper part 8a of the resin casing 8 can be soon broken. With this arrangement, upon collision of the vehicle, when the upper part 8a of the resin casing 8 bumps against the reinforcing member 6, the upper part 8a can be easily broken from the thin wall part 8d.
